Guides in Alaska, Ltd. is dedicated to the documenting, respected use, promotion and preservation of Alaska's abundant back country. Our purpose is to provide people with information to limit risk and enrich their outdoor ventures, while whisking scientific data from input provided by site users to better understand Alaska's vast wilderness.
We list guides to help people find support they may need in their adventures. Their listings fund the Guides in Alaska project and they also provide invaluable insight as they spend so much time outdoors and observing Alaska.
The Guides in Alaska project has been operating 733 days and currently contains; 9,150 geographical features, consisting of 210 mountain ranges and hills, 2,164 mountains, 1,836 islands and archipelagos, 553 glaciers, 2,468 lakes, 939 rivers, and other such features. Of those 177 currently have photos.
As well as 814 species; 486 bird species, 49 fish species, 92 mammal species, 17 insect species, and 157 plant species. Of those 147 currently have photos.
We are also currently listing 202 guides, outfitters and lodging establishments.
